Owen Hargreaves reveals huge Benjamin Sesko concern and pleads for two transfers

Owen Hargreaves is not convinced Manchester United have solved their problems up front with Benjamin Sesko .

United have spent almost £200million rebuilding their attack with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo arriving from Wolves and Brentford respectively.

After missing out on Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres, United turned to Sesko to fill the void up front, signing the Slovenia international from RB Leipzig for £74million.

Sesko has started United’s opening two matches of the new Premier League season on the bench with Mason Mount selected ahead of him alongside Cunha and Mbeumo.

After playing the final 25 minutes against Arsenal last week, the striker managed 38 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Fulham , failing to register a shot on goal.

With United operating with a new-look attack, there remains uncertainty in goal with Altay Bayindir starting again ahead of Andre Onana at Craven Cottage. The futures of both goalkeepers are uncertain with United in talks to sign the highly-rated Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.

Former United midfielder Hargreaves believes it is an issue United simply must address before the transfer window closes next week.

More worryingly, the ex-England international fears the situation up front is still a major concern even with the arrival of Sesko.

‘I love Mbeumo, I love Cunha, Bruno had a bad game today, but my biggest worry is the goalkeeper situation isn’t addressed and the striker situation isn’t addressed,’ Hargreaves told Premier League Productions.

‘I have never seen a team win without top players in those two positions. Maybe they are going to address that in the next week.

‘But goalkeeper, striker, he has to address.

‘The two in behind in Mbeumo and Cunha are fantastic but the one at the top and at the back, they need to address as soon as possible.

‘You look at the fixtures, Burnley at home you expect to win but City and Chelsea are really difficult.’
