Podziemski was one of 18 players who played in all 82 games last season, averaging 13.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg and 3.7 apg. Before the season, Podziemski and the Warriors agreed on a
5-year, $110M extension
in October. Podziemski played in all five preseason games, averaging 14.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg while shooting 39.3% from 3-point range.
The Warriors will also start the year without wings Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody. Both are expected to make a return later in the season. Center Kristaps Porziņġis is also out indefinitely due to a private health issue.
With Podziemski out, look for the Warriors to go deeper in their rotation on opening night, with De’Anthony Melton stepping in to start, along with sophomore guard Will Richard and new addition Brandon Williams to lead the second unit.
