Final eight to discover their quarter-final opponents
The draw for the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup takes place tonight. Following the conclusion of the fourth-round ties, 16 teams will have become just eight as they discover who they will face off against in December to reach the two-legged semi-finals. Balls are to be drawn after the Liverpool vs Chelsea showdown which kicked off at 8pm GMT.
Two names are already in the hat. Most notably Fleetwood Town after they beat last season's runners-up and reigning champions of England, Arsenal, on penalties to cause one of the biggest Carabao Cup upsets. In the all-League One affair, Bradford made easy work of Peterborough United on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, a bumper schedule has guaranteed five Premier League teams will exit the competition as holders Manchester City host Brighton, Chelsea travel to Liverpool, Sunderland welcome Brentford to the Stadium of Light, Fulham and Crystal Palace meet for a second time this season and Bournemouth take on Aston Villa before Thursday's action sees Everton and Newcastle do battle for the last remaining spot.
