Confirmed Arsenal Team v Slavia Prague: Gyokeres Leads The Line

It’s Champions League matchday, Gooners, and Arsenal are in the Czech Republic tonight to face Slavia Prague, with kick-off at 8pm UK time.

Mikel Arteta’s side arrive on the back of Sunday’s impressive 1-0 victory at Anfield, which saw Arsenal finally end their 14-year wait for a Premier League win at Liverpool.

The Gunners will now be looking to carry that momentum into Europe, where they remain unbeaten in their last 18 Champions League matches.

Slavia Prague, meanwhile, have gone 22 Champions League games without a victory, although their impressive domestic form suggests they will be no pushovers tonight.

Arteta’s Arsenal Team for Slavia Prague

Mikel Arteta has made six changes to his starting eleven for tonight’s Champions League encounter with Slavia Prague, giving several players an opportunity following Sunday’s victory at Anfield.

Ben White and Piero Hincapie come into the defence, while Ezri Konsa continues alongside Gabriel, with William Saliba named among the substitutes following his return from injury. Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino join Declan Rice in midfield, while Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze provide the attacking support for Viktor Gyokeres.

Max Dowman is also among the substitutes and could feature despite his ongoing domestic suspension.

Arsenal Looking to Maintain European Momentum

Arsenal secured a convincing 3-0 victory on their last visit to Prague, and another three points tonight would put them three points clear at the top of their group in the Champions League league phase.

With a demanding schedule ahead, Arteta will be hoping his side can maintain their defensive discipline while making the most of their attacking opportunities.
