Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic wins Premier League Manager of the Month

Sergej Jakirovic has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for August after guiding Hull City to two wins from three games.
The 49-year-old Bosnian led the Tigers to a stunning 2-0 victory over Manchester United on the opening weekend before securing a late win against fellow promoted side Coventry City.
Jakirovic’s impressive start comes after he guided Hull to promotion through the Championship play-offs last season, with the club now unbeaten after three Premier League matches and sitting third with seven points
He beat Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Chelsea’s Xabi Alonso and Manchester City’s Enzo Maresca to the award.
Jakirovic becomes only the third Hull manager to win the prize, following Phil Brown in September 2008 and Mike Phelan in August 2016. He is also the first Bosnian to claim the award.
