Brazilian quickly running out of options as windows slam shut around the world

Richarlison is expected to stay at Tottenham at least until January after his proposed transfer to Vasco Da Gama fell through.

He was subsequently left out of Tottenham’s 25-man Premier League squad as all parties worked to find him a new home.

Richarlison had been closing in on a move back to his home country with Vasco Da Gama, but Standard Sport understands the transfer has collapsed, with the Brazilian unable to agree on personal terms.

This comes after Tottenham and Vasco had agreed a fee for the transfer on September 11, Brazil’s Deadline Day.

Richarlison is left in flux, then, stuck at Tottenham despite being unable to represent the club in the Premier League. He had previously been linked with a move to Everton, but also saw that move collapse.

His options have been reduced further by Sunday’s announcement of the closure of the Saudi Arabian transfer window. The Portuguese window remains ajar, though only youth transfers can now be completed.

Speaking earlier on Friday, De Zerbi admitted he did not know whether he would stay at the club: “I don't know (if Richarlison will leave). I don't know, it's not my job.

“All I can say is I know very well what the club have done for Richarlison, and Richarlison knows what he has done for the club.”

Some reports have suggested Richarlison is exploring legal options to terminate his contract.
