Bruce Thornton and strong defensive play throughout lead the Houston Rockets to a
100-83
win over the Brooklyn Nets in a
2026 NBA Summer League
matchup at The Pavilion on Thursday afternoon.
Thornton recorded a game-high 23 points on the strength of 7-for-13 shooting, adding four rebounds and two steals. The Ohio State product was the most prolific of four double-digit scorers for the Rockets, who drained 47.8% of their 23 attempts from behind the arc.
Tristen Newton was second to Thornton on the Rockets with 20 points, supplementing them with six rebounds, two steals and one block. Quadir Copeland furnished 13 points and Isaiah Crawford delivered 12 points and eight rebounds.
Houston set the tone for the double-digit win early, jumping out to a 28-13 lead through the first 10 minutes. The Rockets still held a 15-point advantage at intermission, and when they added another six points to their edge in the third quarter, the final period became a mere formality.
Egor Dëmin paced the Nets with 21 points. The No. 6 overall pick in the
