AC Milan give Liverpool answer in deal for 28-year-old forward

Liverpool are chasing deals for several attackers.

Andoni Iraola and Richard Hughes want two forward through the door before the transfer window closes next week.

Bradley Barcola and Yankuba Minteh are the current names in the frame - with price providing to be a sticking point on both operations.

The 2024/25 Premier League champions want to bring Barcola’s price down with Paris Saint-Germain said to be holding out for around £120m for the 23-year-old.

Brighton meanwhile are playing hardball over Minteh - with their valuation of the 22-year-old climbing to £80m.

Liverpool left needing sales

Should sporting director Hughes get one or more of these deals over the line there will be surely an impact for players already on the books.

Cody Gakpo has been linked with a money-spinning move to either Manchester City or Tottenham and his sale is likely to fund a transfer effort for Barcola.

Others - such as Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa - could be sold if the right buyers can be sought.

AC Milan were offered Chiesa

It was reported earlier in the week that Ruben Amorim at AC Milan had his interest piqued by the availability of Elliott, 23.

The left-footer fits the bill for the Milan coach’s 3-4-3 system and could be sold at a reduced price owing to his short contract duration.

A report in Milan News is now claiming that the Portuguese tactico is less keen on another Liverpool forward in the shape of Chiesa.

Ruben Amorim says: No thank you

The 28-year-old has sensationally been OFFERED to the Milanese giants per the report - but the Rossoneri have said no thank you. That leaves Chiesa in an awkward spot - with little or no chance of regaining his place in Iraola’s squad.

The ex-Juventus player was left out of the opening Premier League game against Newcastle - owing to injury - and the latest reports claim he is still not back in training.

Chiesa makes £150k per week according to reports and it won’t be easy for Italian teams to take him on that salary.

Inter Milan are thought to favour a move for the £12.5m man to bulk out their squad - which would put Chiesa back in the eyeline of Italy manager Roberto Mancini.
