City play beautiful football, says Allan

The 22-year-old has agreed a to Manchester from Brazilian giants Palmeiras and becomes our latest summer signing after the likes of Elliot Anderson, Jeremy Monga, Gerónimo Rulli and Ayyoub Bouaddi.

Speaking in his first City Studios interview, our new winger says a conversation with Viana assured him that the Etihad Stadium was the right place for the next step in his career.

“I did talk to Hugo. He gave me all the tranquility and comfort to get here,” he began.

“He said I’ll have time. So, the conversation I had with him was very good and made me very comfortable.”

Moving from Sao Paulo to Manchester, as well as the Brazilian Serie A to the Premier League, would be quite a challenge for anyone.

However, Allan is confident that he will get everything in place off the pitch quickly in order to succeed on it.

“I’m very focused on adapting here,” he said.

“Learning how much faster English is the language here. So I believe I’m very focused on adapting as quickly as possible. Because when I adapt, I’ll be able to play good football.”

Manchester was a long-term home for several of his compatriots, including Fernandinho and Ederson amongst others, while Vitor Reis is part of our current squad.

Having agreed the move to City and quickly travelled to the UK, Allan is looking forward to settling down and finding out more about where he now lives.

“I arrived recently and couldn’t keep up with everything,” he said.

“I’m still in that moment of a lot of attention, I couldn’t see much, but I sure will. I’m going to walk through the CFA, I’m going to try to visit everything and the city too.

“I’ll try to walk around the city a lot to get to know as much as possible.”
