Arsenal have received a significant boost in their pursuit of Brazil midfielder Breno Bidon and expect Bruno Guimaraes to ‘help’ get the deal over the line.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Bidon over the last 12 months and are keen to bring the 21-year-old to the Emirates Stadium.

Bidon is viewed as one of the most highly-rated young players in world football, having already made over 100 appearances for Corinthians and broke into the Brazil team.

Carlo Ancelotti gave Bidon his Brazil debut during the current international break and the young midfielder is expected to be a key part of the squad leading up to the next World Cup in 2030.

By that point it looks inevitable that Bidon will have moved on from Corinthians given the interest he has attracted from a number of European giants.

Brazilian outlet Bolavip say Arsenal are preparing an official bid for Bidon having tracked his development for the best part of a year.

Corinthians value Bidon at around 25m euros and it is claimed Premier League champions Arsenal are more than willing to meet that figure.

Mikel Arteta welcomed fellow Brazilian Guimaraes to the club last summer and the ex-Newcastle United star is expected to play a role in Arsenal’s pursuit of Bidon.

Corinthians are ready to cash in on Bidon to bring in some funds and Bolavip say the club’s board are ‘unlikely to refuse’ a bid from Arsenal in excess of £21m.

Arsenal still face competition in the race to sign the youngster, however, with Serie A giants Juventus also keen to secure his services.

Back in March, Bidon revealed it was his ‘dream’ to one day play in Europe and test himself in the Champions League, a competition Arsenal reached the final of last season.

I do dream about playing in Europe,’ Bidon told TNT Sports Brasil when addressing the recent speculation surrounding his future.

‘It has been a dream since I was a kid – to play in Europe, to play in the Champions League, to play in a World Cup. It has been a dream since I was young.

‘I do have that desire. I do not know when the moment will come but I do have that desire to play abroad.’

Former Manchester United forward Memphis Depay has witnessed Bidon’s impressive development first-hand since joining Corinthians from Atletico Madrid back in 2024.

According to the Netherlands international, whichever club that manages to sign Bidon will be acquiring a ‘special’ talent with the ‘mentality’ to reach the top.
