Arsenal complete signing of promising striker

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of highly rated striker Igor Tyjon from Blackburn Rovers.

The 18-year-old joins the Premier League champions with first-team experience already under his belt, having made three senior appearances for Blackburn.

Tyjon made his professional debut for Rovers at the age of 16, coming off the bench in a Championship fixture against Bristol City, and will now continue his development in Arsenal’s Academy.

“It feels amazing,” Tyjon said after completing his move.

“I’ve waited a long time for this and I can’t wait to get started.

“It’s a dream come true for [my family] as well, it’s always a nice feeling when you make your family happy, so I’m buzzing for them as well.”

Tyjon said Arsenal’s reputation for developing young players, as well as their status as Premier League champions, played a major part in his decision to join the club.

“Who doesn’t want to join the champions? I can’t wait to be part of the team,” he said.

“The pathway, the staff, the players, everything about it, it’s just top. I’m excited to meet the group, meet the players, hit the ground running and have a good season.”
