Arsenal fans have another week to wait until the return of the Premier League with Leeds United's visit to the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta will hope to avoid any further injury concerns as a trio of Gunners sweat over their fitness while on international duty. Kai Havertz, Martin Odegaard and Ezri Konsa are all dealing with issues while away with their national teams.

Havertz was subbed off for Germany against the Netherlands, but it is reported that his injury is not long-term. For now, the Arsenal boss will keep an eye on the rest of the international fixtures as he prepares for the domestic season to restart.

Erling Haaland transfer verdict emerges

Erling Haaland has been cautiously linked with a switch to Arsenal should Manchester City face removal from the Premier League. TEAMtalk reports that the Gunners will evaluate the circumstances should the Norwegian striker be put on the market.

Yet the same outlet reports that the player has not contemplated leaving the Etihad Stadium and remains committed to competing for the Premier League crown this season. Haaland's Norway colleague Kristoffer Ajer insists the prolific forward has remained unaffected by the verdict and is not planning a move.

The Brentford defender explained: "He's been exactly the way he's always the same with the national team. He's truly focused on the upcoming games. I think he's trying to do the same as everyone else, wait and see what the outcome is...that's clearly been his way of doing it."

When questioned about whether Haaland's demeanour had altered, Ajer replied: "No not at all. Ever since I met him brings lot of energy and joy to the group. The biggest compliment I always give is that he hasn't changed a bit from the moment I met him even though he's the biggest star on the planet right now.

"He's been exactly the same the last few days as well which is not a surprise for me."

Arsenal have reportedly entered the race alongside Chelsea and City in tracking Vasco da Gama prospect Breno Sales. The 16-year-old has garnered interest throughout Europe, with an offer approaching £9million recently turned down, according to Brazilian media reports.

The defender started his career as a forward before converting to left-back and subsequently transitioning into a more central role. This season, Sales has featured 17 times and found the net once.

Having claimed the U17 Copa do Brazil last year, he has established himself as a fixture in Brazil's youth international setup. The youngster is expected to feature in the forthcoming U17 World Cup in Qatar next month, giving Premier League clubs a further chance to assess whether to pursue a transfer.
