Positive news for Arsenal with key quintet on course to reach agreement on new deals

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly agreed to sign an improved contract, and his backroom staff are also in the process of renewing their deals.

The Spaniard’s current contract is due to expire at the end of this season, though it has been widely reported that he will pen a new long-term extension to keep him at the club until at least 2029.

According to the Athletic, Arteta's backroom staff are also in the process of renewing their deals following last season’s Premier League title win.

The Arsenal manager has developed a core coaching group during his time at the club, which includes assistants Albert Stuivenberg and Gabriel Heinze, first-team coach Miguel Molina, goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana and set-piece specialist Nicolas Jover.

When Arteta signed his previous new deal with the Gunners back in September 2024, he discussed the difficult of getting multiple people to sign new deals at once.

“We all tried to do it at the same time,” he said. “It is difficult because four or five people committing at the same time is not easy to do.

An announcement regarding Arteta’s new deal could arrive during the extended autumn international break, with the Arsenal manager saying last week there was nothing to worry about.

He said: “I think we are all very much aligned; whenever the time is right, we'll get that done. There is nothing to be concerned about.

“I don't know if the timing will be the same or different, I think we both have the same ambition and the same will, so whenever we have time we'll get that resolved.”
