Mikel Arteta has signed a new mega contract which will make him the highest-paid boss in the Premier League. Gunners boss Arteta has put pen to paper on new terms which will take him up to 2030 and is reward for him leading the club to their first title in 22 years.

Arteta, who joined the club in 2019, will be the highest-paid boss after Pep Guardiola's departure from Manchester City last summer. The value of the deal is a tightly guarded secret and will be bonus related but success could push him towards the £20million-a-year mark. But he is comfortably the best paid-boss in the Premier League.

It also means he will pass a decade in charge at the club and makes him comfortably the longest serving boss in the top flight. Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner earns around £14m after add-ons.

Arteta said: "It's a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal. This club is unique, its character and the way it makes you feel, and I have a great sense of privilege that our journey together will continue.
