Aston Villa are intensifying talks with
Milan
for Pervis Estupinan, as a replacement for Lucas Digne after Paris Saint-Germain decided to activate his release clause.
It has been a tough day for
Aston Villa
, because in the space of a few hours they learned that Manchester United would pay the €41m to trigger the clause for €41m, then that Paris Saint-Germain would do the same for Digne at circa €10m.
That won’t be completed until after Digne has finished playing in the World Cup with France, but it is a heads up for the Birmingham club to seek a replacement.

It had already been suggested
that
were pursuing Estupinan, and that is now confirmed by
transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano and others.
The 28-year-old was something of a flop after
his €17m plus €2m add-ons move from Brighton and Hove Albion
last year, so this would be an opportunity to go back to the Premier League.
Estupinan contributed one goal and one assist, along with one red card, in his total 22 competitive appearances for the
Rossoneri
last season.
New coach Ruben Amorim would prefer other profiles for the left flank, and so a sale should not be difficult to organise.
