Aston Villa sign Alejandro Garnacho on loan from Chelsea
Alejandro Garnacho will spend the 2026/27 season at Aston Villa after Chelsea confirmed the Argentina international has joined the Midlands club on a season-long loan.
The agreement includes a conditional obligation to buy, which is expected to become permanent if Garnacho reaches a set number of appearances during the campaign.
The 22-year-old leaves Stamford Bridge just a year after completing his £40 million move from Manchester United. Although he featured 43 times in all competitions, scoring eight goals and registering four assists, he struggled to make a lasting impression and eventually fell out of Argentina's plans for the 2026 World Cup.
Garnacho's departure comes shortly after Morgan Rogers made the switch from Villa to Chelsea in a £117 million deal, with the two clubs heavily involved in this summer's transfer market.
A fresh start now awaits the winger at Villa Park, where Unai Emery will hope to rediscover the form that once made him one of the Premier League's brightest young talents.
