Bowen could land Premier League return in £50m transfer despite contract vow

West Ham talisman Jarrod Bowen could be handed a route back into the Premier League with Crystal Palace eyeing a £50million bid.

The forward has, so far, chosen to remain with the Hammers despite their relegation to the Championship. Bowen has more than proven himself to be top-flight quality, earning England caps whilst at the London Stadium, and has pledged his future to the club.

The 29-year-old signed a new deal to continue captaining West Ham in the summer, but the Eagles are still ready to test his resolve by tabling an offer. The Hammers still need to toe the line financially and landing a sizeable transfer fee would prove beneficial, but Bowen remains their star man and is a fan favourite.

Palace are ready to test the water and want Bowen to replace Ismalia Sarr, who is keen to leave for Galatasaray, reports The Sun. The Turkish side are looking to secure a £34m switch for a player who scored 21 times last term and is clearly pushing for the exit door.

New Eagles boss Pierre Sage left Sarr out of the squad that lost 2-0 at Everton on the opening weekend of the season and Galatasaray want to wrap up a deal within a week, which would leave Palace seeking a replacement.

Bowen scored 11 times for West Ham last season but the south Londoners have been long-time admirers of the Englishman. Palace were frontrunners to sign Bowen from Hull back in January 2020 before the Hammers ended up winning the race for his signature.

West Ham supporters are already frustrated having seen their team, who were pre-season favourites for promotion, fail to win either of their two games.

Charlton secured a 2-1 win at the London Stadium on Saturday. Taty Castellanos missed a stoppage-time penalty to rescue a point for West Ham and supporters were left puzzled as to why Bowen did not take it.

The winger's legacy at the Hammers is secure - he was the man who scored the last-minute winner as the club won the UEFA Conference League back in 2023, which was their first European trophy since 1965.

Bowen has since come out and claimed he didn't want to leave the club off the back of a relegation, which motivated him to sign a new deal at West Ham.
