Eight players have been shortlisted for the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month award for August, following the opening weeks of the 2026/27 season.
The nominees are Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Joao Pedro (Chelsea), Mamadou Sangaré (Brentford), Konstantinos Tzolakis (Hull City) and Yoane Wissa (Newcastle United).
Fernandes is arguably the standout candidate after inspiring Manchester United to their first league win of the campaign with a hat-trick and an assist in a 5-2 victory over Ipswich.
Cherki has also made a major impact, while Palmer has started the season strongly under new Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso.
Newcastle forward Wissa has contributed a goal and an assist across his first two Premier League appearances, including a goal in the 2-0 win at Tottenham.
There is also recognition for impressive starts from promoted sides, with Hull goalkeeper Tzolakis keeping two clean sheets in his first two Premier League games as the Tigers made a perfect start.
