🚨 BREAKING: Scott McTominay to undergo heart surgery after arrhythmia

Scott McTominay will undergo corrective heart surgery after Napoli confirmed the midfielder has been diagnosed with a mild, benign cardiac arrhythmia.

The Serie A giants announced on Tuesday that the Scotland international will have a cardiac arrhythmia ablation using pulsed field ablation (PFA) in the coming days.

“Following the onset of a mild benign arrhythmia, Scott McTominay will undergo corrective surgery using a cardiac arrhythmia ablation (PFA) in the coming days,” Napoli said in a statement.

PFA is a catheter-based procedure that uses short electrical pulses to target abnormal heart tissue and treat cardiac arrhythmias. It is a relatively recent technique that is increasingly being used in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders.

Napoli added that McTominay is expected to be available again after the international break.

The 29-year-old has established himself as a key player for Napoli since joining from Manchester United in 2024, helping the club win the Serie A title in his debut season and being named the league's Most Valuable Player.
