Bukayo Saka Sends Five-Word Message To Chelsea Ahead Of Arsenal Showdown

Chelsea will be hoping to claim a big win after their Brighton victory.

Arsenal attacker Bukayo Saka was rather indifferent when speaking about Chelsea ahead of Sunday's Premier League London derby.

As it stands, only four clubs have had two wins from their first two games this season: Manchester City, Arsenal, Hull City, and Chelsea.

Arsenal beat newly promoted Coventry City 3-0 and then Aston Villa 1-0. Chelsea got the job done, albeit less convincingly, against Fulham (3-2) and Brighton & Hove Albion (4-3).

The two London clubs will face each other on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium, so the list is guaranteed to shrink.

Arsenal star Saka seemed quite confident when speaking about the upcoming derby.

“Yeah, I’ve seen them,” the Arsenal winger told Sky Sports after their win at Villa Park when asked whether he had seen Chelsea’s recent performance.

Saka’s confident words are somewhat justified, given Arsenal are likely the favourites heading into the derby. Arsenal will play at home, and they have a great head-to-head record against Chelsea in recent years.

The last time Chelsea beat Arsenal was more than five years ago, when Thomas Tuchel’s Blues outplayed the hosts in a 2-0 win at the Emirates in August 2021. Chelsea captain Reece James scored in that game and provided the assist for Romelu Lukaku’s early opener.

The two clubs have played each other 11 times without a Chelsea victory since, with Arsenal winning eight of them.

That said, Arsenal will host a different Chelsea side this weekend.

Arsenal cannot underestimate Chelsea’s attacking threat

Under new manager Alonso, Chelsea have proved they can rely on their attack to win games despite their shaky defensive performance early in the season.

The arrival of club-record signing Morgan Rogers, in particular, has elevated their attack overall, with both Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer also hitting the ground running. Chelsea have scored the most goals (seven) in the Premier League from the first two gameweeks.

On the other hand, Chelsea will take on Arsenal’s well-structured defence. The defending champions are the only Premier League team not to have conceded a goal this season, which is very impressive given the injury absence of their star defender, William Saliba.

Arsenal also have attacking threats, with Saka arguably their best-performing attacker, having made the score sheet in their first two matches.

Chelsea have reinforced their defence in the summer, especially with the additions of Maxence Lacroix and former Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. However, given the tactical changes under the new manager and with new signings, Chelsea naturally need more time to adjust.

Regardless, the focus will likely be on how Chelsea, with the league's best attacking record so far, will try to overcome Arsenal’s outstanding defence at the weekend.
