Cesc Fabregas has 'bombshell contract clause' involving Arsenal, Chelsea and one other club

Arsenal and Chelsea legend Cesc Fabregas is currently in charge of Serie A side, Como, but his clause includes a lucrative clause that can be utilised by three clubs

Arsenal, Chelsea or Barcelona would be able to secure Cesc Fabregas for a cut price due to a special clause in his contract, despite being tied down to Como until 2028.

The Spaniard, who enjoyed spells with each of those clubs as a player, stepped into the world of football management in 2023, initially taking up tenure with Como on an interim basis.

The following year, having achieved promotion from Serie B, Fabregas was handed a four-year contract with the Lombardy-based club.

And while the 39-year-old is clearly happy with his current arrangement, it is claimed that he demanded a special clause in his contract which would allow him to join specifically Arsenal, Chelsea or Barcelona for cheap, before committing his future with Como.

As per Gianluca di Marzio, that price will be practically symbolic, compared to the fee that other clubs could have to pay Como to lure their manager away.

However, for the time being, there are no plans for the Gunners, the Blues or La Blaugrana to seriously pursue Fabregas.

Arsenal won the Premier League under the guidance of Mikel Arteta last season, and will look to defend that title in 2026/27, getting to work on the front foot.

The North London club have managed four wins from their first five matches of the season, and sit second in the standings as a result - three points adrift of a faultless Manchester City.

Chelsea, meanwhile, appointed Xabi Alonso as their long-time manager this summer, with hopes that the Spaniard can restore glory to Stamford Bridge.

Alonso received a sizeable transfer kitty across the window, although work is still needed from his players, old and new.

Chelsea currently sit 10th on the league table with two wins and losses apiece, as well as a draw.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are more than convinced by Hansi Flick, who has guided his side to wins in each of their seven La Liga matches this term thus far.

Flick has also extended his contract at the Camp Nou until 2028, showing that the head coach also has faith in the project.

Fabregas, meanwhile, seems to be content with Como for the time being, given reports suggest that he rebuffed interest from several Italian clubs this summer.
