Champions League fixtures in full as Arsenal begin at Napoli and Liverpool play at Anfield

The Champions League fixtures have been released with Arsenal beginning their bid to be European champions away at Napoli whilst Liverpool host Atletico Madrid.

The Gunners were beaten on penalties in last year's final and will aim to take that final step, beginning with a trip to Italy. Their most daunting trip will see them head to Bayern Munich whilst Real Madrid will face them at the Emirates.

Manchester United are back in the Champions League after missing out in recent years and will return to Europe's top table with a home game against minnows Sabah. They will twice travel to Spain to take on Atletico Madrid and Villarreal. Major tests will come at Old Trafford when Michael Carrick's side host Bayern Munich.

Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola will get his first test of the Champions League when he faces Diego Simeone. Their most daunting away trip will come when they face Inter Milan at the San Siro.

Manchester City, who endured a premature exit last season at the hands of Real Madrid, face two mouthwatering games - welcoming holders PSG to the Etihad before they head to Barcelona, but without Pep Guardiola for the first time in a decade.

Aston Villa have faced a difficult summer but Unai Emery will lead them in the Champions League for a second time. They will head to Barcelona and Turkish champions Galatasaray. PSG will head to Villa Park two years after they edged past the Premier League side in the knockouts.
