Chelsea flop set for MLS move just two months after Cesc Fabregas punt

Former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata could be on the move this summer, despite only signing for a new club on a permanent basis two months ago. Morata joined Serie A outfit Como back in June, having spent last season on loan from AC Milan.
Morata spent three years at Chelsea from 2017-20, and eventually left Stamford Bridge to join Atletico Madrid on a permanent deal, having spent the previous campaign on loan with the La Liga outfit.
The Spain international went on to join Como, who are managed by former Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas, last season on loan from Milan, which included an obligation for the move to become permanent this summer.
Como confirmed earlier this summer that they had completed the signing of Morata on a permanent basis, and now there are reports that the striker could be heading for the exit door at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium.
It has been reported by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio that Major League Soccer outfit Atlanta United have expressed an interest in signing Morata this summer.
The report claims that the United States-based club have set their sights on bringing in a striker this summer, with another former Chelsea star, Romelu Lukaku, also said to have been identified as a potential target.
It has been claimed, though, that Lukaku has a preference to join Fenerbahce rather than move across the Atlantic. As a result, it remains to be seen if Atlanta will push on and try to sign Morata.

Morata failed to find the back of the net during his loan spell with Como last season, despite making 26 appearances for the Serie A side, who finished fourth in the table and secured Champions League qualification.
Since leaving Chelsea, Morata has had spells at Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Milan, Galatasaray and Como, and it now remains to be seen if the former Blues star will be on the move yet again this summer.
