Cherki up for Premier League Goal of the Month award

Rayan Cherki has been nominated for the Guinness Goal of the Month for August.

Our French playmaker scored a quite wonderful individual effort away to Crystal Palace, beating several defenders with his exquisite close control before poking the ball past Dean Henderson.

Already surely a contender for the goal of the season, Rayan is up against Emerson of Ipswich Town, Nilson Angulo of Sunderland, Keane Lewis-Potter and Kevin Schade of Brentford, Newcastle duo Joe Willock and Anthony Elanga plus Chelsea’s Cole Palmer

Voting is now open and the winner will be announced at 1pm on 11 September.
