Chiesa suffering from new injury, confirms Liverpool boss Iraola
Italy international Federico Chiesa has sustained yet another muscular injury and is ‘not available’ to play for Liverpool, confirmed coach Andoni Iraola.
Chiesa picked up the issue during the pre-season friendly match against Como, and was already left out of the squad for the Premier League season opener against Newcastle United on Sunday.
It looks as if he will not be in the side for a while either, because Iraola warned he is still on the treatment table with no clear timeline for a return.

The former Juventus and Fiorentina winger has struggled throughout his career with injury problems, and they have been largely muscular in nature since recovering from knee surgery.
The lack of regular playing time has further affected his ability to make a full recovery and regain form, which is all the more difficult when he barely gets a look-in at Liverpool.

Chiesa turns 29 in October and joined Liverpool from Juventus in the summer of 2024, but has only made 50 competitive appearances for the club, scoring five goals with five assists.
