We had our first major flashpoint in the Manchester Derby inside 25 minutes as Phil Foden was given his marching orders after a coming-together with Bruno Fernandes.

It was a hard-fought opening 20 minutes at Old Trafford but the match took another path when the two attackers came together on the far touchline.

While Bruno Fernandes appeared to give Foden a kick in the back while the City star was on the ground, Foden kicked back and was eventually shown a straight red card by referee Michael Oliver.

Manchester City players were incensed, claiming Fernandes should have been punished for his kick on Foden as well, but it was Foden who was given the marching orders.

Notably, it was the first time a Manchester City player has been sent off against their city-rivals since Bernardo Corradi all the way back in 2006!
