The agent of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Enzo Raiola, has revealed Manchester City have provided his client with reassurances after the club's guilty verdict. City have been found in breach of 114 financial regulations by an independent panel but continue to deny any wrongdoing.

City have lodged their appeal against the outcome but there is understandable concern over the future of several star players. Donnarumma, signed last summer, is one of those but his representatives have been assured that "sporting justice" will prevail.

"Will the Manchester City chaos change anything? No, nothing will change for us or for Gigio," Raiola told Radio Napoli Centrale. "News comes out periodically. The club has spoken with Gigio and everyone is calm.

"Now there are important games against Liverpool and PSG, then sporting justice will take its course. But Gigio has had reassurances from Manchester City.”

Official comments from the club have taken a similar tone with chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak insisting focus is firmly on the upcoming games while CEO Ferran Soriano has stated that they are innocent and will continue to fight.

The verdict emerging at the very start of the international break saw less of a microscope on the club with no press conference or games on their schedule.

City's stars managed to avoid speaking publicly with Norway removing Erling Haaland from press duties last month.

He returned to Manchester immediately after Norway's final game after sparking injury concerns by asking to be subbed off. A trip to Liverpool is their first task since the guilty verdict was returned with an extremely hostile atmosphere expected at Anfield.

They are arguably the club that have been most impacted by City's breaking of rules and were one of four clubs that gave them legal notice of their right to seek compensation.

The Telegraph have since reported that Liverpool, alongside Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham, the other three clubs that planned to take action, were informed of City's guilty verdict before the other Premier League clubs.

All of City's domestic rivals share the belief that they should be expelled from the top-flight but it may not be that simple. That is despite the fact the sanction hearing is set to take place over the coming months even with the appeal process ongoing.
