Ederson looked destined to join United after the English giants agreed a deal worth £35 million with
But Michael Carrick’s side pulled the plug on the deal after a full medical of the Brazilian raised injury concerns.
They could resurrect their move for Ederson
later in the transfer window, albeit not at the previously agreed terms.
With United set to compete on multiple fronts next season, the club’s hierarchy are looking to add quality and depth to their squad.
Bolstering midfield has been their main focus this summer. After missing out on several key targets, the Red Devils have recently signed midfielders Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos from Aston Villa and Chelsea respectively.

United have identified Roma’s Manu Kone as a good option
and could soon formalise their interest with a transfer bid.
The Premier League giants are also targeting a new left-back as well as a left winger this summer.
