Emery explains his anger after crazy 4-4 draw at Man Utd

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has explained the reasons for his anger after his side’s chaotic 4-4 draw with Manchester United.
Having surrendered a two-goal lead in the first half, the visitors did the same in injury time at the end of the match. Emery was understandably enraged and headed for the tunnel before the full-time whistle.
It extends their poor record at Old Trafford, where Villa have won just once in their last 15 visits.
“Angry, of course,” admitted Emery on his feelings after the game. “I am angry, not with the players, I am angry for the situation.
“We were winning in the last six minutes and we lost the opportunity to have two points more.”
Villa raced into a two-goal lead within five minutes of kick-off, following goals from Alysson and Nicolas Jackson. However, they were pegged back to 2-2 by half-time. They restored their advantage early on in the second half, courtesy of goals from John McGinn and Leon Goretzka, but once again failed to hold onto it.
“I think we did a very competitive match,” continued Emery. “We played a good game competing, and with the mentality.
“Of course in extra time we conceded two goals. It’s painful but we must accept it in our process and the adaptation for some players as well.
“In the last six matches we have drawn three and we have won three. I think it’s a good process. We are recovering.
“But of course we are losing some opportunities. Last week at home against Fulham, drawing this match as well, how we were winning 2-4 in the 90th minute.”
