ENGLAND SQUAD LIVE: Tuchel announces first squad since World Cup with Palmer, Alexander-Arnold and Madueke calls to be made

Thomas Tuchel is set to announce his England squad for four upcoming Nations League matches this morning. The Three Lions face Spain, Croatia and the Czech Republic twice in the extended three-week international break.

It will be the first time Tuchel is able to get his group back together since the Three Lions crashed out of the World Cup in disappointing fashion against Argentina earlier in the summer.

Despite the fact England face four matches in the revamped international hiatus, Tuchel is NOT expected to pick an expanded squad. His German counterpart, Jurgen Klopp, has gone for a massive 44-man Die Mannschaft contingent for the next 21 days before players return.

But Tuchel is set to go with a 26 or 27-man squad, as he normally does. This is barring the 35 he chose for March friendlies against Uruguay and Japan, where he gave a final chance to a number of players before the World Cup.

Cole Palmer is reportedly expected to return, whilst there could be call-ups for Rio Ngumoha and Alex Scott.

John Stones is set to miss out through injury after going off hurt for Inter Milan this week, but Djed Spence has also been missing. Ben White is an injury doubt.

Jordan Henderson and Dean Henderson are both out through injury. Everton’s Jarrad Braithwaite has played well in front of Tuchel and has a strong shout.

England will begin their League A Group 3 campaign at home against World Cup and European Championship winners Spain on Saturday, September 26, with kick-off at Wembley Stadium at 7:45pm.

The Three Lions then face Czechia at the Fortuna Arena in Prague on Tuesday, September 29, kicking off at 7.45pm. It will be an especially crucial game if England fail to beat Spain.

The newly extended international window continues when England face Croatia away on Saturday, October 3, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm. The match is set to be played at Stadium HNK Rijeka behind closed doors due to previous UEFA sanctions on the host nation.

The England squad for the four upcoming Nations League fixtures is scheduled to be announced on Friday, September 18 at 10am.
