Everton agree Jack Grealish return on season-long loan

Everton have agreed a deal to sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City on a season-long loan. The 30-year-old is scheduled for a medical on Tuesday morning before completing his return to Merseyside.

According to The Athletic, Everton had been working on a loan to bring Grealish back to Hill Dickinson Stadium after last season’s spell. He attracted enquiries from multiple clubs, but Everton were his first choice and the only side to meet City’s terms. Sunderland made a loan offer earlier in the window.

Grealish registered two goals and six assists in 22 appearances for David Moyes’ side before a stress fracture in his foot curtailed his campaign.

The agreement follows reports earlier on Monday that City had reached an agreement in principle for Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye. Grealish made his first Premier League outing for City since May 2025 in the 2-1 victory against Bournemouth, then was omitted from Enzo Maresca’s squad for Friday’s 4-1 win at Crystal Palace.

City signed Grealish for a then British record £100 million in 2021, and he has made 159 appearances, scoring 17 goals with 23 assists. Everton have added wide players Tyrique George and Brennan Johnson this summer, the latter arriving in a swap with Palace that saw Dwight McNeil depart.

Everton have decided against selling Harrison Armstrong to Nottingham Forest, who had been in talks over a potential £40 million deal for the 19-year-old midfielder.
