Fiorentina ‘to target’ Manchester United forward Zirkzee if Kean completes Como switch

Fiorentina are weighing a move for Joshua Zirkzee as they line up cover should Moise Kean seal a transfer to Como.

Calciomercato.it reports that the Netherlands international has moved ahead of Beto on the Viola’s shortlist, with the Manchester United striker available this summer.

The chase is directly linked to Kean’s situation, which has deteriorated. The forward failed to report for training on Wednesday morning and was fined, before agreeing to an individual session in the afternoon.

Kean is pressing for the Como move, with the club submitting a second bid worth €40m, made up of €35m fixed and €5m in bonuses. Fiorentina want more and, crucially, will not approve a sale until a suitable replacement is secured.

That stance mirrors sporting director Fabio Paratici’s comments before Monday’s 4-0 defeat at Roma, when he set three conditions for any exit, the third being the arrival of a player of equal or better quality.
