‘Fire And Attitude’ Draw Club To Stoke City Star

Stoke City winger Sorba Thomas’ ‘fire and attitude’ are attracting interest from newly promoted Premier League side Hull City, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Potters finished the previous season with four losses on the bounce, which saw them finish as low as 17th in the Championship.

Mark Robins has been hoping for better, but so far Stoke have not delivered, with losses to Swansea City and Southampton in the Championship.

The club hierarchy have brought in a host of new players to back the experienced manager, as the likes of George Hirst, Ethan Galbraith, Svante Ingelsson and Djibril Soumare have joined.

However, Stoke could lose one of their best players before the window ends, as Welsh star Thomas is being targeted this summer.

West Ham United considered him an option this summer, but ended up going for Tottenham Hotspur’s Manor Solomon.

Serie A side Genoa have the 27-year-old on their list of ‘promising’ targets, but more clubs are now coming in for him.

Hull City now want to sign Thomas and are suggested to have seen a bid of £7m turned down.

The Tigers see Thomas as an ideal fit for their left wing position where they do not have a natural right-footed attacker.

Acun Ilicali’s side like the 27-year-old attacker for his ‘fire and attitude ‘, but the Potters want more than £10m to let go of their star attacker.

Thomas scored ten goals and provided 13 more for his team-mates in 45 league games, despite Stoke experiencing a below-average last term.

Hull are continuing talks and Thomas is likely to be attracted by the idea of testing himself in the top flight with the Tigers.

Stoke though will want to drive the best possible bargain and as quickly as possible too in order to create time for more additions to arrive in the Potteries.
