FOUL PLAY! Ex-Spurs star Andros Townsend 'run over' in bizarre accident before match in Thailand

Andros Townsend miraculously escaped serious injury after a bizarre incident with a piece of pitch machinery. The former England international plies his trade in Thailand and was run over by a pitch roller during the warm-up ahead of PT Prachuap's 3-0 win over Pattani FC.
Footage has emerged on social media of the Prachuap players undergoing their preparations for their Thai League One match. The roller is seen, with a driver, making its way across the pitch before colliding with Townsend as he tries an aerial backheel.
Townsend's teammates rushed over, some turning away in horror and fear, while the 35-year-old was left under the equipment.
Somehow, the former Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Luton Town winger emerged without serious injury and came off the bench in stoppage time with the game wrapped up.
Townsend will likely be fielding requests for comment regarding the innocuous yet horrifying incident in the coming days and weeks.
It comes in his latest campaign in the Far East after leaving Turkish side Antalyaspor for Kanchanaburi Power in the Thai Second Division in 2025.

The Spurs academy graduate was making just his third appearance for Prachuap, having joined them in the summer.
He was named on the substitutes' bench after starting in the opening matches against Rayong and Sukhothai, with Townsend's side up to second as a result of their comprehensive win.
The 13-time England international hit the headlines when his move to Thailand was confirmed, however, in an interview with talkSPORT in 2025, he explained the reasoning behind the decision.
"Towards the back end of last season, I was playing in Turkey, and I hadn't been paid a few months' salary.

"The club said to me 'you can take your salary - but you're never going to play for the club again' so I took the salary.
"I hadn't played since March, got a bit frustrated, so in the summer I said to Marlon [my agent] I don't care where I go, just take me somewhere nice, interesting and tropical.
