Manchester United have added much-needed creativity to their midfield this summer.
Both Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos are known for their line-breaking passes and they should help Michael Carrick’s side dominate possession and crack open low blocks.
In particular, the prospect of seeing the Belgian midfield maestro alongside Kobbie Mainoo and
Bruno Fernandes
in the middle of the park is certainly exciting. However, the United skipper faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford ahead of the new season.
Galatasaray, who flexed their financial muscles last year by signing Victor Osimhen, are now pushing to lure
to Istanbul.
According to
Haber Sarikirmizi
(via
Sport Witness
), Galatasaray have made signing a number ten a priority this summer.
The
Manchester United
skipper, who was statistically the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League last term, is thought to be at the top of the Super Lig giants’ list.
“Galatasaray are in talks with young players for the wing position, but I expect this transfer to be finalised once the number 10 and striker positions have been sorted out,” Süleyman Rodop of Ajans1905 said.
“The asking price for
is €50m, and negotiations will take place around that figure. However, Fernandes’s annual salary expectations are €20m clear.”
The Portuguese wizard, who will turn 32 in September, remains United’s most reliable player despite his ageing legs.
As such, it is difficult to see United sanctioning his sale for just €50m (£42.7m). However, Turkish outlets appear to be a lot more hopeful.
Ahead of the World Cup, The Peoples Person relayed a
report
claiming United are prepared to offer
Fernandes
a new deal.
“Manchester United are preparing to reward skipper
with a staggering new £375,000-a-week contract as they look to tie down their talismanic midfielder for the long term, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal,” the report stated.
INEOS reportedly consider the Portugal international the heartbeat of the team and are eager to build their next era around him. As things stand, he has less than 12 months left to run on his contract in Manchester.
