Grizzlies, Pelicans agree to 4-player trade

Jordan Hawkins posted 5.1 points across 51 games for the Pelicans in the 2025-26 season.
The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to trade AJ Johnson and Taj Gibson to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Jordan Hawkins, Micah Peavy, a future second-round pick and a future second-round pick swap. The teams made the deal official on Tuesday afternoon.

Hawkins was the No. 14 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of UConn. Across three seasons with the Pelicans, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds on 34.8% 3-point shooting across 18 minutes per game.
Peavy was selected 40th overall by the Pelicans in the 2025 NBA Draft and averaged 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per game as a rookie.
Johnson is on the move from Memphis without having played a game for the franchise, arriving earlier in the offseason from Dallas as part of the
six-team trade
that sent Khris Middleton to the Wizards and Isaiah Stewart to the Grizzlies. The former 23rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft averaged 3.3 points across 48 games last season with both the Mavericks and Wizards.
The 41-year-old Gibson arrives to his ninth NBA franchise after signing with the Grizzlies in February. He averaged 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10 appearances for Memphis in 2025-26.
