HAAL CHANGE! Haaland removed from Norway press conference duties at last minute after Man City found guilty of 114 of 115 charges

Norway have reportedly taken the decision to remove Erling Haaland from press conference duty following news of Manchester City being found guilty of alleged financial breaches. The City striker was originally scheduled to face the media this weekend ahead of Norway’s clash against Portugal on Sunday in the Nations League.

News emerged on Friday claiming that City had been found guilty on all but one of the 115 charges that were brought against them by the Premier League back in 2023.

City are now facing a wait to discover what punishment they could receive, with the club having the right to appeal the outcome, which has been widely reported in the media. As a result, City face the prospect of being given a punishment which could range from a points deduction all the way up to expulsion from the Premier League.

Haaland is currently with the Norway squad for the extended international break, and was recently in action on Thursday night as he helped his country claim a 3-2 win over Denmark, where he was on the score sheet twice.

The striker was expected to speak to the media this weekend ahead of Norway’s next game against Portugal, but that will no longer be the case.

As reported by TV2, Haaland has been replaced for Norway’s pre-match press conference duties by Benfica duo Andreas Schjelderup and Fredrik Aursnes.

Norway’s media manager Morten Skjonsberg is reported to have given a message to the media that Haaland will no longer be speaking to reporters this weekend.

“We are making changes to tomorrow’s press conference,” the message is reported to have read. “(Stale) Solbakken, (Fredrik) Aursnes and (Andreas) Schjelderup will be on the ground floor.”

Haaland has already previously spoken about the charges that were brought against City, where the striker says he was reassured that the situation would be resolved.

"I spoke with the bosses, and in the end, I believe them," Haaland said in an interview with TIME Magazine in July last year. "It’s such a tricky situation for me to even sit there and speak about, because I wasn’t really involved in it.

"So I think the club knows what they’re doing. They will sort it out."
