Harry Kane equals Peter Shilton as most-capped England player
Harry Kane will become England’s joint highest cap winner after being named in the starting XI for the Nations League clash with Czech Republic at Wembley.
The 33-year-old will join Peter Shilton on 125 appearances as he captains a side featuring four changes from the 7-0 win over Croatia on Saturday.
Kane will also be looking to edge closer to the magical 100-goal mark, after moving his total to 89 goals with four in the opening three games of the current international window.
"I'm not sure I have anymore words,” England boss Thomas Tuchel said of Kane ahead of his record-equalling cap.
"He's on the shortlist for the Ballon d'Or. We've spoken so often about him and I try to find new words which then make no sense!
"Everything he does, he does it on the highest level, he does it consecutively and I am very sure he will be the one leading the team out onto the training pitch, he will lead the team in the warm-up and not do one step less or one step slower. That is the level he has.
"Since he took this major role for Bayern Munich, he found a new level. It's the highest level, on and off the pitch."
Kane’s bow came against Lithuania in March 2015 aged 21, when he scored the first of his many goals for the national team.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Morgan Rogers and Eberechi Eze all come into Tuchel’s side for the meeting with Czech Republic.
Alexander-Arnold returns at right-back for his first Wembley appearance for his country in two years, with Jarell Quansah moving into central defence, with Ezri Konsa injured.
Lewis-Skelly makes his third start of the camp in place of the injured Alex Scott, while Rogers and Eze come in to replace wingers Anthony Gordon and Bukayo Saka.
