Harry Redknapp has urged Thomas Tuchel to call up ‘special’ Arsenal teenage sensation Max Dowman to the England squad.
Dowman, 16, became the second youngest player in Premier League history when he made his Arsenal debut in August 2025.
Further appearances in the Premier League, Champions League and cup competitions followed, with Dowman scoring a memorable late goal against Everton in March.
Arsenal’s title win made Dowman the youngest Premier League winner in history, while he became the youngest player to start in the competition on the final day of the season.
There were calls for Dowman to be included in England’s World Cup squad over the summer but Tuchel perhaps understandably resisted the urge to call up the teenager.
It appears only a matter of time before Dowman does feature for the Three Lions, however, and Redknapp says he would waste no time before giving the ‘special talent’ an international opportunity.
‘You’ve got the kid Max Dowman at Arsenal who’s coming through. He’s a real talent, he really is a special player,’ Redknapp told OLBG’s ‘The Jeff Stelling Show’, which is out at the end of October.

‘I think he’ll get into the squad for the Euros, for sure. He played at Ipswich and got two goals. I mean, the kid is just an amazing talent.
‘I think he’s that good. I would throw him in and see. Look at Spain, they’re not afraid to throw kids in at 17, 18. If they’re good enough, they play.
‘And he is that special. When people see him in the next few years, he will go onto another level. He’s a top, top young player.’

England reached the semi-finals of the summer World Cup before a heartbreaking defeat to eventual runners-up Argentina.
Redknapp believes Tuchel has one of the strongest squads in world football at his disposal but was ‘disappointed’ Cole Palmer and Trent Alexander-Arnold were not picked for the World Cup.
‘In the end we got beaten by what I thought was a very average Argentinian team,’ the ex-manager added. ‘They weren’t great, we saw them in the final and they were shocking, in fact.
‘I was disappointed that we didn’t take Cole Palmer and didn’t take Trent Alexander-Arnold.
‘You can’t tell me that sitting there with 25 minutes to go, you wouldn’t think, “Hang on, we need a bit of magic here, and Cole Palmer’s right there on the bench”.
‘So yeah, I think it was disappointing. I know we finished third or whatever, but it’s been the same for years.
