Andoni Iraola Provides Bradley Barcola Update Ahead of Brighton Clash

Liverpool are in a fine run of form at the moment, winning seven of their last nine games across all competitions.

However, they face a serious test against Brighton on Sunday, who currently sit second in the Premier League table and have scored more goals than any other team in the competition so far.

Andoni Iraola’s side will be without a number of key players this weekend with Giovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong and Hugo Ekitike all already ruled out.

However, speaking in his pre-match press conference, Iraola confirmed a massive boost for the Reds…

Barcola Fit For Brighton

There had been some concern over the fitness of Bradley Barcola in recent days, with the Frenchman training individually earlier this week.

However, Iraola has passed him fit for the Brighton test, saying: “Yes, Bradley has trained today normally. He is fine. No problems. It was just a matter of dealing with the load and sometimes they have to stay inside.”

“He is fine.”

Munoz Remains A Doubt

Forward Victor Munoz missed the 4-3 win over Villarreal on Tuesday and remains a doubt for this weekend.

Iraola said: “He is dealing with some pain [since Brentford] and it was too early to play against Villarreal.”

“I don’t know. I think it’s going to be difficult [to be fit for Brighton], but I really don’t know.”

Attacking Options vs Brighton

Iraola has a lot of quality to choose from. Both Alexander Isak and Bradley Barcola only played around 20 minutes each on Tuesday and are expected to start on Sunday.

Rio Ngumoha produced a stellar display in the win over Villarreal and was substituted after 74 minutes, which could point towards a starting role against Brighton.

Cody Gakpo returned from injury in that same win and played a full 90 minutes.

As it stands, a front three of Barcola, Isak and Ngumoha looks the most likely.
