Manchester City boast the most valuable squad in the Premier League now that the summer transfer window is over. The late signing of Enzo Fernandez has pushed Enzo Maresca's side back to the perch of England's finest with a total squad value of around £1.24billion, according to Transfermarkt.
However, there is no guarantee that expenditure equals results on the pitch. Just ask Tottenham after their record-breaking influx of players which has failed to bear fruit so far this season.
City pulled off the £125million signing of Fernandez from Chelsea on deadline day to match the Premier League's record purchase. City also saw a lot of talent leave the Etihad Stadium but such as their strength in depth, they retain the highest squad value.

To get it, it's a quick and easy one-two:

Arsenal beefed up their own valuation by paying slightly over the odds to sign the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa. However, they struck a bargain with the £34.5m purchase of Piero Hincapie, who boosted his valuation beyond that mark following last season's loan.
Chelsea would have remained inside the £1bn club had they held onto Fernandez. And despite spending big themselves with additions like £117m man Morgan Rogers, they're down to third with a valuation of £930m.
Manchester United are just outside the top four as Michael Carrick's squad comes out at a value of £794m. The Red Devils remodelled their midfield this summer but failed to add any major names elsewhere.
At the other end of the table, it should come as no surprise that newly promoted Ipswich, Coventry and Hull bring up the rear (in that order). The Tigers added new names across the park but still come out with a valuation of just £217m, with biggest signing Nobel Mendy arriving for a fairly modest £20m.
