According to information from The Times, Gianni Infantino would be offering Morocco the chance to host the 2030 World Cup final in Casablanca, at the future Hassan II stadium, with a capacity of around 115,000 spectators. The proposal would come at a particularly delicate moment for the FIFA president, who is losing support ahead of his possible reelection.

The move would have a political dimension: Morocco has become one of Infantino's main allies and Rabat will host the next FIFA Congress, where the presidential vote is scheduled to take place in March 2027. The Times suggests that Moroccan support could be especially important for Infantino in the face of growing opposition to his management

The choice of Casablanca would be a major blow for Spain, which until now had hoped to host the final at the Santiago Bernabéu. Hassan II, currently under construction, would have a much larger capacity —115,000 spectators— and Morocco has been intensifying its campaign for weeks to secure the decisive match.
