Ipswich Town have submitted a bid for Burnley striker Zian Flemming amid the Dutchman's transfer request

Ipswich Town, after heavy investment in their attacking areas this summer, are looking to further add to their ranks in the top end of the pitch in the form of Burnley striker Zian Flemming, with the Tractor Boys having launched a bid for the Dutchman.

According to Pete O'Rourke via X, Ipswich have launched a bid for Burnley's Flemming, with the striker having recently stated his desire to depart Turf Moor this summer, as per Ben Jacobs via X, who has now claimed that there is 'advanced talks' between the two clubs.

It's unclear how much the Premier League outfit have bid for the former Millwall hitman at this stage, though with Flemming looking to move on, an exit appears increasingly likely, although Ipswich are not the only club who are interested.

Football League World's Burnley fan pundit, Aaron Wright, believes the Clarets should be demanding upwards of £35m for the 28-year-old, though it's unlikely that sort of fee will be reached at this stage.

Ipswich have bolstered their attacking options and then some this summer following the appointment of Gary O'Neil, with the Suffolk-based outfit looking to do everything they can to retain their Premier League status this time around.

The likes of Emersonn, Abdul Fatawu, Julio Enciso, Chuba Akpom, and Daizen Maeda have all joined the club on permanent deals in recent months, adding to an attack already containing the likes of Jaden Philogene, Jack Clarke, Anis Mehmeti, Kasey McAteer, and Sindre Walle Egeli, as Flemming could become the latest addition.

However, the Tractor Boys are not alone in their pursuit, with Brentford having previously made an offer for the 28-year-old, whilst each of Lille, Everton, and Leeds United have also registered an interest in Flemming.

Flemming, ever since arriving in Lancashire from Millwall on loan in the summer of 2024, has been one of the Clarets' star performers, grabbing 16 direct goal contributions in his first year at the club on their way back to the Premier League, before his obligation to buy for £7 million was triggered the summer after.

Despite an immediate relegation back to the Championship, Flemming hit double digits in goals in the top flight last season, scoring 11 in 29 league games for a struggling Clarets side, and proving he is more than capable of leading a line at that level.

The 28-year-old rescued Burnley from 2-0 down to West Ham United on the opening day of the Championship weekend, scoring a late brace to give the Clarets a draw.

Since then, Flemming played 78 minutes away to Norwich City recently, as Burnley lost 4-1, with Nicky Hayen undergoing a tough start to life at Turf Moor, yet to win any of his five games in charge in normal time.

With Armando Broja, Ashley Barnes, Andreas Houtondji, and Zeki Amdouni as options behind him, there is a clear drop-off in quality from the Dutchman, something the Clarets will struggle to replace, especially at this stage in the window.

Indeed, with Ipswich and Burnley having essentially swapped places between the Premier League and Championship, this Claret fan would be disappointed if he joined the Tractor Boys.

On the contrary, this Burnley supporter believes Ipswich would be a great move for Flemming, with the Dutchman arriving straight back in the Premier League.

Though not everyone agrees with that, as this Clarets supporter believes Flemming can do better than Ipswich at this stage of his career.
