Jack Grealish attracts transfer attention from outside Europe – Everton remain keen on loan

Manchester City are yet to find a solution to Jack Grealish’s uncertain future with the forward still in training with the club and recovering from injury last season.

Grealish’s City career has followed an arc since his £100 million move from Aston Villa in 2021 – a fee that was a British transfer record at the time. Having played a central role in the club’s historic treble-winning 2022/23 season, his influence waned significantly under Pep Guardiola in the years that followed, culminating in a season-long loan to Everton last year.

That spell proved to be a revival, with six assists and two goals in 20 Premier League appearances for David Moyes’ side, before a broken foot brought his campaign to a premature end – a setback that also meant Everton’s £50 million option to buy went ignored.

Grealish has since returned to Manchester City for pre-season, but his situation remains unresolved despite new manager Enzo Maresca known to hold long-standing respect for the player’s ability.

Saudi Pro League circle for Grealish

Now, according to a new report from talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Jack Grealish has transfer interest from clubs within the Saudi Pro League, while Everton would entertain another temporary move for the Manchester City forward.

However, from the side of those within the Etihad Stadium, it is suggested that officials would prefer ‘something more permanent’ given Grealish is entering into the final year of his contract at the club.

One option for Jack Grealish is said to be Al Hilal, who are actively looking for a new left winger, while the England international’s preference is likely to be to stay in the Premier League.

Grealish’s summer ongoing work detailed

Manchester City’s preference for a permanent sale does not automatically align with Everton’s apparent appetite only for another loan, particularly having already let their buy option lapse once.

Should no Premier League club step forward with a permanent offer City are satisfied with, the financial scale of a move to Al Hilal or another Saudi side may become considerably harder to turn down – even if it isn’t Grealish’s first choice.

City’s urgency to sell is likely to have eased for the time being as they continue to allow Jack Grealish the time to recover sufficiently from his foot bone stress fracture towards the end of last season, with the player currently in Spain working at RCD Mallorca’s training base.
