Lacroix and Scott ‘want’ Chelsea transfers as talks continue

Maxence Lacroix and Alex Scott are both keen on transfers to Chelsea this summer as talks continue.

Chelsea are in negotiations with Crystal Palace over a deal to sign Lacroix, as Xabi Alonso looks to improve his centre-back options. The France international has been targeted as a readymade option to upgrade the Blues’ backline.

Palace are seeking a fee in excess of £55m for the 26-year-old, with the Eagles using Jan Paul van Hacke’s £52m transfer from Brighton to Chelsea as a benchmark.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Lacroix is keen on the transfer across London after two seasons at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea have also had a £64m bid turned down for Bournemouth midfielder Scott. The Cherries have rejected the proposal and have informed Chelsea that the club have no interest in selling Scott this summer. The 22-year-old has turned down a new contract at Bournemouth amid interest from Premier League rivals.

Despite Chelsea’s lack of European football, Scott is also open to the move. The West Londoners are rebuilding under Alonso this summer and have already landed Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda and Morgan Rogers, with the latter joining in a £117m club-record deal. Chelsea are also due to announce the signing of Valentin Barco from Strasbourg.
