Leeds United ‘Keeping An Eye On’ Championship Option

Leeds United are ‘keeping an eye on’ an option in the Championship in the shape of Wolves‘ Mateus Mane, but he would cost a substantial fee, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Daniel Farke has seen only one arrival in the attacking department in the ongoing window in the form of Harry Wilson and he wants to bring in players to beef up that area.
The Whites have seen Joel Piroe’s departure to West Ham United and it has been suggested that Fiorentina are in negotiations for Wilfried Gnonto.

RB Leipzig’s Conrad Harder has been a subject of interest for Leeds, but they are set to face disappointment on that front, as he is now set to join French outfit Strasbourg on loan.
Now with the last few days remaining in the window, the Yorkshire giants have a tough task on their hands to provide Farke with attacking options and their search has led them to the Championship.
Wolves’ 18-year-old attacker Mane is on their mind and the player has proven his versatile nature by playing in several different areas of the pitch last season.
It has been claimed that the Whites are closely monitoring Mane, who has four more years left on his contract with the Midlands outfit.
Mane joined Wolves from Rochdale in 2024 and his performances in their academy set-up earned him a senior debut during May 2025 against Crystal Palace.
He was offered a contract by Wolves in September 2025 and it has been suggested that Leeds might need to fork out a fee in the region of £40m to sign the Portuguese.
Last season, Mane featured 27 times for Wolves in the Premier League while registering five goal contributions and established himself as a key figure in their starting line-up.
He has started all three league games for Wolves this season and Cesar Pexioto has deployed him as a winger so far.
Leeds might have a tough time convincing Wolves to sanction a departure for Mane, as the Midlands outfit might not have enough time to bring in a replacement for the 18-year-old.
During the winter transfer window he drew attention from Newcastle, but Wolves were not ready to play ball with them and it remains to be seen whether their stance will change if Leeds go in with a big offer.
