Liverpool's pre-season is officially underway as players begin to report for the summer prep today. However, it won't be close to a full contingent as certain stars enjoy their post-World Cup break.
Some players will be joining the pre-season festivities in the United States after Andoni Iraola's team fly across the pond. And that includes any new additions who may join the Anfield cause in the coming weeks.
There's plenty of business still to be done as the Reds look to make major improvements on last season. And Mirror Football has collated some of the latest headlines as an important week in the summer calendar gets underway.

Liverpool may have to move quickly if they're to have any chance of signing Bruno Guimaraes this summer. That's following reports Arsenal have agreed terms with the Brazilian to join them on a five-year contract.
The Reds are one of the clubs who have been linked with a move for Guimaraes this summer. However, Mikel Arteta's men appear to have taken the initiative and are seemingly pressing ahead with their own bid.
French newspaper L'Equipe has reported Guimaraes, 28, has agreed to join Arsenal on a deal that will run until 2031. However, there is still the significant hurdle of getting Newcastle to agree to a sale.
The Magpies do not want to part ways with their captain, especially after midfield partner Sandro Tonali already left for Tottenham . However, it's alleged a deal could be done for somewhere in the region of £76million.
It's understood Lyon, who sold Guimaraes to Newcastle in January 2022, have a 20 per cent sell-on clause on the player. That would equate to a windfall of around £15m if the playmaker is sold for £76m, leaving Newcastle with a smaller cut of his fee.
Arsenal supposedly had a £55m offer for Guimaraes knocked back in June. However, it seems the Magpies' refusal wasn't enough to deter the north Londoners altogether.
Liverpool have been linked with a number of midfield reinforcements already this summer. However, it's possible an existing member of the midfield unit may need to be sold if Iraola's side are to make any late move for Guimaraes.

One candidate to free up a slot in the engine room this summer is Curtis Jones. However, the homegrown star has suggested he's going nowhere after responding to a recent transfer report.
Or he's at least hinted a move to Nottingham Forest isn't in the offing. Jones, 25, took to social media and replied to a post reporting he was due to sign for Forest, posting a skeptical-looking emoji showing a raised eyebrow in response.
The post served as a fairly obvious signal that Jones is in the dark about such a move. And the fact he's willing to make such a statement in a public forum may be an indicator he's not a fan of the rumours tying him with an Anfield exit.
However, it remains very plausible the Reds will look to sell Jones, who's now in the final 12 months of his contract. But it appears Forest aren't as close to agreeing a move as some might suggest.
