Hello and welcome to Mirror Football's live blog on the Manchester City charges case...

Last month, the Premier League confirmed an independent commission found City guilty of 114 financial breaches but the process still has a long way to run. City have appealed the decision and a final outcome this season is seen as unlikely even though a sanctions hearing is also set to take place.

Discussed at that will be all the potential punishments, ranging from a hefty fine to expulsion from the Premier League, with City warned they could face 'multiple double figure' points deductions.

The process being drawn out has already angered other top-flight clubs with many of the belief it is impacting their ability to qualify for the Champions League while others are more concerned about potential legal costs.

While Manchester City's ongoing legal battle is with the Premier League, UEFA could also get involved and dish out a punishment of their own if the appeal against the initial guilty verdict is unsuccessful.

That is according to Colombian journalist Cesar Augusto Londono, via his X account with 1million followers, who has stated that UEFA are "close to announcing" that City could be prohibited from playing in any of their competitions for a "period of 7 to 10 years", if they are still found guilty of financial breaches.

In addition to external comments, we have also heard plenty from within the Manchester City camp with Marc Guehi among those to insist the club are "together".

Louis van Gaal has admitted Manchester City likely ended his tenure at rivals Manchester United after failing to qualify for the Champions League during a season in which City have been found guilty of financial breaches.

We have also heard from UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham during a recent PMQs regarding his link to the Manchester City owners.

The stance of other Premier League clubs was also recently spoken about by Maguire with some annoyed about it impacting their European hopes while others just want a swift resolution.

Kieran Maguire, an expert in football finance, has been discussing Manchester City's potential punishment if their appeal against 114 financial charges fails.
