Man Utd outcast Andre Onana rejoins Trabzonspor on loan

Andre Onana

has joined

Trabzonspor

again for a second successive season away from

Manchester United

on loan.

The goalkeeper made 33 appearances for the Turkish club last season and has struck a deal for a second spell there, rather than returning to Old Trafford.

A statement from United said: “Everyone at United wishes Andre the best of luck for the campaign ahead.”

Loaning him out again means United will not recoup a transfer fee yet for the £43m signing, who joined from Inter in 2023, though

will cover his entire wages - which have gone up as a result of United’s qualification for the Champions League.

Trabzonspor will also pay an undisclosed loan fee for the goalkeeper.

has taken over, there has been no way back for the Cameroon international.

In his absence, the 2025 signing

Senne Lammens

has established himself as United’s first choice and while they may sign another goalkeeper this summer, they opted not to use Onana as the deputy to the Belgian.

Onana was bought by Erik ten Hag, his former manager at Ajax, but his two years in the United goal featured a series of errors. His last appearance for the club so far came in the

Carabao Cup defeat to League Two Grimsby

last August.

Onana, who has two years left on his deal with United, helped

finish third in the Turkish Super Lig and win the Turkish Cup last season.
