Jack Moorhouse departs to continue his development in Scotland

Manchester United have announced a second post-Deadline Day transfer, with Jack Moorhouse leaving on loan.

Man United were one of two Premier League clubs to not do any business on Deadline Day, though have been busy in the hours since the summer transfer window closed.

On Wednesday night it was confirmed that United youngster Chido Obi had joined Willem II on a season-long loan deal to aid his first-team development.

Prior to that, Moorhouse's loan move to Scottish Premiership side Dundee was confirmed.

This is the midfielder’s second loan spell after spending the first half of last season in League One with Leyton Orient, weighing in with three goal contributions.

A statement reads: "The 20-year-old battled back from a long-term injury and established himself in our Under-21s side in 2024/25, having also earned inclusion in some first-team training sessions and matchday squads since then.

"He went on loan to League One outfit Leyton Orient last term, where he made 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists before returning to United to conclude the campaign with Adam Lawrence’s side.

"The Republic of Ireland youth international now heads north of the border to continue his development with Steven Pressley’s team in Scotland’s top tier."

Moorhouse has been able to make the move to the Dundee after Tuesday’s transfer deadline for Premier League clubs as the Scottish transfer window does not close until 5pm BST on Thursday.

He could make his debut as early as Sunday when Dundee travel to Tynecastle Park to face last season’s Scottish Premiership runners-up Hearts.
